Using Flashback for Success
It's #throwbackthursday. That particular day we get to reminisce on old pictures and laugh them off. Sometimes, we go a little further, saying, "I remember this day," and narrate a brief context of what happened earlier before we took the picture.
How about we take a step back to the day before the picture was taken to uncover more lessons that you could use today.
Some of the experiences we are witnessing today aren't new or foreign to us. As new experiences uncover, we forget that we can build on existing experiences by expanding them through flashbacks.
Major Pane's Life At 30
Today I clock 30. I have heard people talk about the sour taste they feel on this day. I guess its a case to case basis. I'm not comparing myself with anyone; that's why I will go ahead to tell you how I feel.
I feel fulfilled, accomplished, and ready to hit the ground running for the next phase of my life. Among the unlimited list of goals I had set for myself to achieve when I am 30, I want to highlight three.
1. Acquire unbeatable self-control: As a man, I find this a stumbling block for many men out there who are slaves to themselves.
Using Your Purpose to Resolve Conflict.
Did you start your year off with massive conflict, stress, worries, anxiety? If you are a millennial, you will agree that we have never seen such a time like this. Surprisingly, the world has been through far worse times, and I will say you were born at the right time, century, generation.
One lesson that stood out for me this January is that I shouldn't fix issues but address them.
Let Perseverance Polish Your Personality
As a full-time Project Coordinator for a Non-profit, on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, I hosted a remarkable celebratory virtual event for resident leaders within a specific community (Markham, York Region, Canada) to showcase their achievements and enlighten the community about the issues they are addressing as well as the support they needed to sustain their initiatives.
I had two weeks to outreach for this event on social media and within my networks. I got a total of 80 registered attendees, including representatives from my project funders (United Way), York Region Municipal, Markham's Ward 8 & 7 Councillors, stakeholders and community residents.
